Rome, Italy – The Secretary-General, H.E. Sheikh Manssour Bin Mussallam, met with His Holiness Pope Francis at the Vatican today. They exchanged views on the pressing need to transform the international financial architecture to address the legitimate concerns of countries of the Greater South and better serve the human dimension of development.
During the private audience, the Secretary-General and the Pope, discussed the Common Leveraging Union of Borrowers (CLUB), a novel instrument established by OSC Member States aimed at reducing debt burdens and establishing fairer debtor-creditor financial terms for more multidimensional, sustainable development.
The cooperation between countries of the Greater South to usher a fairer and more just financial architecture is essential to the collective edification of a Third Way of Development – from and by the South, in service of Humanity as a whole.
