Addis Ababa, November 2025 – The Organisation of Southern Cooperation (OSC) participated in Africa Celebrates 2025, a Pan-African event dedicated to promoting unity in diversity by showcasing Africa’s art, culture, heritage, tourism, innovation, technology, and business as drivers of economic, social, and regional integration.
During the opening forum, held under the theme “Innovation and Technology”, Dr. Shumete Gizaw, Under-Secretary-General for Technological Innovation and Digitalisation Enhancement (TIDE), delivered a keynote address on behalf of the Secretary-General, H.E. Manssour Bin Mussallam. His presentation, entitled “The Digital Pillars of Reparative Justice: Aligning Africa’s Digital Roadmap with the Mandate for Redress and Dignity”, underscored the transformative potential of digital innovation in shaping a just and inclusive future for the Greater South.
In his remarks, Dr. Shumete emphasised the importance of digital transformation grounded in endogenous technology development and open-source innovation as essential pathways to advancing justice, equity, and dignity across Southern nations.
