Addis Ababa, 17 December 2025 — The Secretary-General, Manssour Bin Mussallam, participated in the Conference on South–South Cooperation and Justice for Africans and Afrodescendant Peoples through Reparations, contributing to high-level reflections on the responsibilities of the Greater South in the context of a rapidly changing global order.
During the discussions, the Secretary-General underscored the importance of consolidating collective efforts to advance a more just and equitable world, highlighting key priorities including the strengthening of people-to-people connections through mobility and creative industries, the generation of strategic leverage via investments in sovereignty-enhancing sectors, the reinforcement and interoperability of regional and continental integration frameworks, and the establishment of endogenous financial and taxation mechanisms to support sustainable development agendas.
The conference, convened by the Embassy of Colombia in Addis Ababa, provided a timely platform for dialogue and exchange on reparative justice and South–South cooperation.
