Addis Ababa, 17 October 2025 – A high-level OSC delegation of the Organisation of Southern Cooperation, representing the Secretary-General (OSC), H.E. Manssour Bin Mussallam, took part in the 5th Pakistan–Africa Trade Development Conference, held from 16 to 18 October at Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa.
The OSC delegation was led by Dr. Shumete Gizaw, Under-Secretary-General for Technological Innovations and Digitalisation Enhancement (TIDE), and included Dr. Hidayet Çilkoparan, Principal Coordinator of the Multilateral Accreditation and Support Taskforce, and Mr. Amar Ahmed Ibrahim, Chief of Multilateral Cooperation.
Organised by the Trade Development Authority of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan (TDAP), in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and the Commercial Section of the Embassy of Pakistan in Addis Ababa, the conference aimed to strengthen economic ties between Pakistan and African nations, fostering regional cooperation and promoting trade and investment opportunities.
The OSC’s participation in this important event reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing South-South cooperation and advancing joint development across the economies of the Greater South, encouraging knowledge exchange, innovation, and inclusive trade as key drivers of shared and sustainable growth.
The programme included a high-level event attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Commerce, TDAP, chambers of commerce, and members of the diplomatic corps from ten East African countries, as well as the inauguration of the exhibition of Pakistani products, featuring over 115 participating companies.
