The event is public and will take place on 4 and 5 July 2025, with presentations and debates on the geopolitical challenges of the Greater South and cultural integration.
Speakers from various countries of the South will meet at the National University of Avellaneda (UNDAV) for the “Greater South Colloquium: Culture and the Arts in a Transforming World”. The talks will focus on the geopolitical challenges of the Greater South and the integration of our cultures, how to reimagine new technologies to become their drivers and not just users, and how to build new multilateral architectures.
The colloquium will take place on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 July, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the UNDAV’s Sede España, located at 350 España Street in the city of Avellaneda, Buenos Aires, and will be attended by prominent speakers from Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Peru and Togo, around four panels with the following thematic axes:
- Geopolitical challenges of the Greater South
- Towards South-South cultural integration
- Reimagine New Technologies, Becoming its drivers, appropriating it
- Architectures of multilateralism
The international meeting is organised by the Organisation of Southern Cooperation (OSC) in collaboration with the Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (UDUALC)—associate member of the OSC—and the National University of Avellaneda (UNDAV), in the context of the 2nd edition of the Festival of the Greater South. The president of UDUALC and rector of UNDAV, Eng. Jorge Calzoni, is also the current president of the OSC Conference of Associate Members for the period 2024–2025.
The activity will bring together thinkers, artists, professionals and the general public with the aim of creating a critical space for exchange, building solidarity and promoting self-affirmation through culture.
