Secretary-General-elect and Nicaraguan Minister of Education hold videoconference


The Secretary-General-elect of the Organisation of Educational Cooperation (OEC), H.E. Manssour Bin Mussallam, and the Minister of Education of the Republic of Nicaragua, H.E. Miriam Raudez, held a videoconference to discuss the needs and priorities identified in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Secretary-General-elect expressed OEC’s commitment to complement existing initiatives and policies undertaken by Nicaragua in achieving the commitments contained in the Universal Declaration of Balanced and Inclusive Education (UDBIE). The Secretary-General-elect also emphasised the Organisation’s conviction in the necessity for strengthened, solidarity-based cooperation and to contribute to the realization of Nicaragua’s aspirations for equitable sustainable development.

The Minister of Education expressed Nicaragua’s commitment to ratify the Constitutive Charter of the OEC and to support the development and the implementation of the Organisation’s programmes of work.

Nicaragua is a founding State of the Organisation.
