Addis Ababa, 12 June 2025 — The Secretary-General of the Organisation of Southern Cooperation (OSC), H.E. Manssour Bin Mussallam, today attended a working lunch with H.E Mr. Dammu Ravi, India’s Vice Minister of Economic Relations.

The Secretary-General briefed the Vice Minister on OSC’s mandate and programmes and invited India, as a member of the Greater South, to join the organisation and make a meaningful contribution to the development agenda of the Greater South. The Secretary-General stated that India could contribute enormously to the programmes of OSC, especially in the fields of technology, health and research, among others.

The Vice Minister appreciated the work that OSC is doing in championing an alternative approach to many of the challenges facing the Greater South through a Third Way of Development. He undertook to invite the Secretary-General in the upcoming India-Africa Conference which will take place either in India or Addis Ababa.

Both sides agreed to continue with specific engagements and the Secretary-General proposed sending a technical team to India to explain further what programmatic activities OSC is engaged in. The luncheon was organised by the Embassy of India to Ethiopia.
