Interfaith Iftar: Bridging Communities in the Spirit of Solidarity

On Wednesday April 3, the Secretary General of the Organisation of Southern Cooperation (OSC) H. E. Manssour Bin Mussallam, hosted members of the diplomatic corps and other high-level dignitaries, as well as OSC staff, at an Iftar reception at the Sheraton Hotel in Addis Ababa. Iftar is a meal eaten after sunset during Ramadan, a period when Muslims all over the world observe strict fasting from dawn to sunset until the sighting of the new moon.

The interfaith Iftar event showcased unity and respect, bringing together people of different faiths to share a meal during Ramadan. The gathering, organised by the OSC, emphasised the importance of understanding and cooperation among diverse religious communities. It symbolised inclusivity and harmony, reflecting a commitment to bridging religious divides and fostering solidarity.
